Adding VR to Existing Game

After exploring our extensive example scene, you have two options to move forward. Firstly, you can create a new project, add Game Creator 2 (GC2), and then integrate OpenWorlds VR to build from scratch. Alternatively, you can enhance your existing project—whether it's in progress or completed—by adding VR as another player option.

The screenshot above demonstrates how we've seamlessly integrated VR into the GC2 Shooter Third Person example scene. Ready to jump into action? Just add each of the three prefabs, and you'll be up and running in no time!

  • OpenWorldsVR - Required
  • GC2 Linked Buttons - Configurable
  • GC2 OnStart Trigger - Needed for PC to VR

After completing these steps, make sure to add the scene's Main Camera to the Build Settings if you plan to use this feature. Additionally, assign the scene Player to the 3rd Person Model parameter in the Player Configuration. You will also need to add you Player model to the On Start Trigger Conditions, so that the correct modles can be assigned to the Player attribute. But again, this is only needed if you are to use this PC to VR feature.

You'll need to set up alternate GC2 Buttons for aiming, shooting, and other actions. Don't worry though, we'll provide a comprehensive tutorial to make this process a breeze for you.

If you're a seasoned GC2 user, you'll find these steps straightforward. If not, don't worry! Simply watch our detailed video walkthrough tutorial to guide you through the process.
